COURSE CONTENT: 

This 2-day (16 hour) program has been designed by the Homeland Security Training Institute at the College of DuPage to provide students with the necessary information to: Investigate various types of Financial Crimes and use Hi-Tech Investigation Tools to solve financial Crimes. The class will combine classroom lecture and practical exercises with using Cellebrite to examine phone data and the internet to search for evidence and/or identities of offender(s). 

Course Goals: 

- Understanding different Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance Centers. 

- Understanding different paid Intelligence Companies tools and resources 

- Understanding different types of financial cremes and how to investigate them 

- Using data from resellers and pawn shops 

- Understanding how Internet Providers collect and store information and how IP data can be used in an investigation.  

- Understanding Various data obtained from Ride Share and other companies. 

- Obtaining Motor Vehicle Digital Evidence. 

- Seizing mobile phones and using mobile phone extraction tools. 

- Understanding how to use Cellular records and other geolocation tools. 

- Understanding how to us Forensic Video enhancement tools 

- Understanding how to use Facial/LPR/Vehicle Recognition technology 

- Using the internet for investigations.
