Ti Training Simulator
NITAB currently owns 4 Firearms Training Simulators that are available to our Member Agencies for training. Simulator #1 is a 1 screen portable system housed at NITAB and can be transported to your department. Simulator #2 is housed at Sycamore PD and available for transport also. System #3 is permanently set up at Sandwich PD to serve Dekalb County agencies and System #4 will be permanently set up in NITAB Classroom B to serve Boone and Winnebago County agencies. Contact NITAB to schedule the training system that best meets your needs. Instructors will have Ti Instructor Certification through NITAB. This simulator can be used as “in-house training” (without state certification) as well as having the training state certified and going through our certification process.
If you wish to have the training state certified, your instructor must complete the following:
1. Submit to NITAB a lesson plan (the lesson plan must include a statement that the student must review their department’s policies and procedures if you are training more than your own department’s officers).
2. List the number of hours in the class, the date(s) training is scheduled.
3. Instructor bio
Please see additional information on Course Certification under Forms and Links
Instructors are welcome to view the available Ti scenarios in our office tactics area to assist them in selecting the scenario(s) they will use in developing their lesson plan.
To schedule a simulator for your department, please check the master schedule listed below for available dates and contact our office. If your training has been approved for state certification, we will bring the necessary course paperwork to be completed by the instructor(s) and students, and collect all completed paperwork when the simulator is picked up.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need additional information.
