This is a State Certified, 40 hour basic course.  Course content will include the following topics:

    ~    Team Concept
    ~    Physical Fitness & Proper Mindset
    ~    Weapon capabilities and required equipment
    ~    Handgun positioning and techniques
    ~    Close quarter combat, confidence building
    ~    Cover vs. concealment
    ~    Setting up plans of operation and intelligence gathering
    ~    Setting up perimeters and sectorization
    ~    Hostage situations
    ~    Chemical munitions/distraction devices, less lethal
    ~    Stress shooting, moving and shield shooting
    ~    Breeching techniques
    ~    Building entry, covert stealth probe
    ~    Bombs, booby traps and explosive entries
    ~    Rifleman vs. Sniper/Observer
    ~    Arrest Teams and tactics
    ~    Rapid Deployment
    ~    Legal considerations

The following equipment will be needed:
    ~    Body Armor – tactical if available
    ~    Eye Protection
    ~    Duty weapon handgun and tactical holster/gear
    ~    Flashlights – tactical if available
    ~    Gloves
    ~    Tactical equipment assigned to officer
    ~    350 rounds handgun ammunition
    ~    Rifle (AR-15, MP-5, etc. and 50 rounds of ammunition)
    ~    SWAT uniform and equipment of available (otherwise BDU/s preferred)
         and gear for outdoor weather
    ~    Water hydration system (canteen, camel back, etc.)
    ~    NO GAS-SMOKE OR PERCUSSION GRENADES
    
This course will have a written examination.  Shooting will be done at an indoor and outdoor range.
